Instructions
Chicken Paprikash Recipe
- Heat the oil in a large pan and add the diced onion and a pinch of salt. Cook slowly until the onions are clear and glassy. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down in the pan. Cook 2 minutes on one side, until well browned, then turn them over and cook 2 minutes on the other side.
- Remove the pot from the heat, add the sweet (Hungarian) paprika powder, stir. (Do not burn the paprika!) Pour in just enough water to cover.
- Replace the pot on the heat. Add the diced pepper and the salt. Cover and cook it slowly for about 1 hour.
- When the chicken is done, add the sour cream to the chicken paprikash sauce and mix it.
- Serve with nokedli noodle or rice.
Hungarian Nokedli Recipe
- Mix well the flour, the eggs, the water and the salt.
- Place a nokedli grater over the pot of boiling water, and make the noodles.
- When the noodles float to the top, wait about 30 seconds and drain them.
Notes
