This Spicy and Creamy Black Beluga Lentil Dahl is delicious but easy to make. The cinnamon and black cardamom give a special holiday taste.

Ingredients
- 250 grams Black Beluga Lentils
- 3 pods black cardamom
- 1 medium stick cinnamon
- 3 Indian bay leaves (Cinnamomum tamala)
- pinch of crushed chilli
- garam masala powder
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 red bell pepper
- 6-8 cloves garlic
- sunflower (or canola) oil
- salt
Instructions
- In a medium pan heat 1 teaspoon of oil and add Indian bay leaves, cinnamon stick, cardamon pods. Toast the spices for 1 minute.
- Add 1 teaspoon of garam masala and pinch ot chili. Stir it for 1 minute.
- Add 3 cup of cold water, ΒΌ teaspoon of salt and Black Beluga Lentils.
- Bring it boil and cook it about 25 to 35 minutes.
- Add tomato paste and 1 teaspoon of garam masala. If it necessary add more water. Cook it for 10 minutes.
For the toppings
- Chop the garlic and red bell pepper.
- In a small pan heat 1 teaspoon of oil. Add the red bell pepper and little bit burn them.
- Add chopped garlic and stir it for 1 minute.
