Hungarian pogácsa (savory biscuit or scone) is very popular, delicious and easy to make. This is my family recipe.

Servings: 4 people
Ingredients
- 150 grams butter (or margarine)
- 350 grams plain flour
- 1 tablespoon sour cream (Hungarian: tejföl)
- 1 egg
- 7 grams baking powder
- ⅓ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients. Stir until become a dough. I usually use a stand mixer for making a dough.
- Wrap the dough and put the refrigerator for a hour.
- Preheat the oven to 190℃ (375°F).
- Line a large baking sheet with baking parchment.
- Roll the dough 1-inch-thick (2,5-cm-thick) on the lightly floured surface.
- Make a shallow cross-hatched pattern with a sharp knife all over the dough surface. With a floured cutter, stamp out rounds with a 4,5-cm- (1 3/4-inch-) diameter.
- Arrange them on the baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
Notes
You can sprinkle grated cheese on top every pogácsa.
