The Best Way to Pickle Red Onions
To make pickled red onions, you need just 5 simple ingredients: red onions, white vinegar, water, sugar and salt.

(10 %) white vinegar

sugar

Instructions
Cut the red onions. I use a knife (not mandoline) because I like if pickled onions are little bit crunchy.
Put the sliced onion in a jar.
Boil a cup of water.
Add the vinegar, sugar and salt to the hot water and stir it until the sugar and salt dissolve. Pour the mix over the onions.
Put the lid on the jar and close it. Set aside to cool to room temperature, then put the onions in the fridge for overnight.
Notes
The pickled onions will keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
You can seasoning the pickled onion with garlic, chilli, pepper or thyme.
